Statement of Douglas Berman, Chairman of All American Games, in reaction to the announcement today of the Secretary of the Army that 2018 would be the last year of the Army’s title sponsorship of the All-American Bowl:

The All-American Bowl is the premier high school sporting event in the country, and the 2017 All-American Bowl was the most successful on record as over 5 million viewers watched the event on NBC and nearly 41,000 watched live in the Alamodome in San Antonio.  All American Games will be moving forward with Bowl games in 2019 and beyond with our existing partners of NBCSports, the presenting sponsor American Family Insurance, adidas, the City of San Antonio and, potentially, a new title sponsor.  At the same time, we will wait to learn what the thinking of the new Department of the Army leadership will be about the Army’s relationship to this unique high school outreach vehicle as we move ahead to execute and play the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January 2018.
