The U.S. Army All-American Marching Band program was founded in 2008 when the Bowl was in need of a halftime show to accompany the caliber of the athletes. Directors are given a two year instruction period, during which a new show (new music and new drill) are formed.

2016-2017 Lead Director – Dr. Kenneth G. Bodiford, Show “Of Thee I Sing”


Dr. Kenneth G. Bodiford has served as the Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Music at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama since 1994. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education at Jacksonville State University, his Master of Music in Music Education and Wind Ensemble Conducting degree at East Carolina University, and his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Instrumental Conducting degree from The University of Alabama.

2014-2015 Lead Director – Dr. Nicholas V. Holland, Show “When Johnny Comes Marching Home” 


Holland is currently the Director of Athletic Bands at Charleston Southern University. Holland holds BM and MM degrees in music education from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, and a PhD in music education from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro.

2012-2013 Lead Director – T. Andre Feagin, Show “Rhapsody in Red, White and Blue”


Feagin is a professor at the University of Arizona where he is currently pursuing his Doctoral degree. Professor Feagin was active in Drum Corps International for nearly two decades. During that time he taught such groups as Carolina Crown (Fort Mill, SC), Memphis Sound (Memphis, TN), Santa Clara Vanguard (Santa Clara, CA) and The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps (Tempe, AZ). He is a former conductor of the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps.

2010-2011 Lead Director – Nola Jones, Show “Celebrate America”


Dr. Nola Jones is the Director of Bands at the University of Tennessee Martin. Dr. Jones serves as an active adjudicator and clinician for Bands of America, Drum Corps International, and Winter Guard International.

2008-2009 Lead Director – Bob Buckner- Show “Red Hot, White and Blue”


Bob Buckner was the first lead director for the USAAAMB, hailing from Western Carolina University as Director of Athletic Bands. Bucker has since retired, but has continued to be the drill writer for the USAAAMB.
