INTERNSHIP POSITIONS: SEEKING GRADUATES INTERESTED IN EVENT PLANNING, SPORT MARKETING AND MEDIA

All American Games, the owner and producer of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and U.S. Army All-American Marching Band, is seeking qualified candidates to execute the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Tour during the fall of 2016. Selection Tour Teams present and announce the official selection of each U.S. Army All-American (90+ football players and 125 marching band members) at their respective high schools across the country during assemblies, pep rallies, press conferences, and football games. The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is the nation’s premier high school all-star game, annually highlighting the best 90 senior football players. The 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl will be played live on NBC on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX.

Selection Tour personnel will spend approximately three weeks training at the All American Games office in Rockaway, NJ beginning at the end of August and embark on Selection Tour upon completion of training. This includes significant travel from September through early December. Interns will be separated into teams of three and placed in a section of the country to execute Selection Tour events.

The Selection Tour Representative position consists of three roles for each Selection Tour Team:

Event Coordinator

  • Point of contact for event planning
  • Responsible for public speaking at events
  • Team leader

Videographer

  • Manages video content and sponsorships for the team
  • Handles press and public relations
  • Maintains equipment

Photographer

  • Manages/distributes still camera content and social media for the team
  • Assists in press and public relations

Upon completion of the Selection Tour, members are integrated into the operational components leading up to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. This may include weekend travel for other All American Games’ events. Upon the conclusion of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Selection Tour personnel may have the opportunity to join All American Games on a full-time employment basis, pending available positions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Highly self-motivated and energetic individual looking for a career in event planning, marketing, or operations
  • Computer skills (File sharing such as Dropbox or wetransfer.com, Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • College graduates preferred
  • Attention to detail and experience with meeting strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of DLSR and video camera equipment encouraged

Length of Employment:  Mid/late August 2016 – early January 2017

Office Location:  Rockaway, NJ (Lodging provided if needed during training)

Travel Location:  Nationwide depending on assigned region (travel budget is provided by All American Games)

Hours:  Full-Time (40+ hours per week)

Compensation:  SemiMonthly Salary ($1,500 per month)
